WhatsApp payment reminders for failed payments
In many markets, customers read WhatsApp long before email. Revnio can send a payment reminder from your own WhatsApp Business account as a follow-up when the recovery email hasn’t worked.
How it fits into recovery
WhatsApp is a follow-up step. A reminder goes out only when the payment is still unrecovered, the customer hasn’t clicked the email link, and the configured delay has passed since the previous message (48 hours by default, measured from the SMS if you use SMS, otherwise from the email). Each failed payment gets at most one WhatsApp message.
Your number, your brand
Messages come from your business, not from Revnio. You connect your WhatsApp Business account through Meta’s sign-up flow inside Revnio, and messages are sent with the WhatsApp Business Platform.
Because businesses must use pre-approved templates to start a WhatsApp conversation, you pick an approved template in Revnio. The message links to the same secure recovery page as your emails and texts.
- Verified business name on the message, which builds more trust than an unknown sender.
- Delivery and read receipts are handled by WhatsApp, so the message isn’t lost in a spam folder.
- Works well for customers in regions where WhatsApp is the default messaging app.

Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes WhatsApp reminders?
The Pro plan.
Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?
Yes. Messages are sent from your own WhatsApp Business account, which you connect through Meta’s sign-up flow.
Why do I need an approved template?
WhatsApp only lets businesses start a conversation with a message template that Meta has approved. Utility templates about an existing account or payment are the right category for payment reminders.
Does WhatsApp messaging cost extra?
Meta charges for business-initiated conversations on the WhatsApp Business Platform, billed to your WhatsApp Business account according to Meta’s pricing.
